Why don’t we have a good hospital in North Brooklyn?

Native New Yorker and lifelong Brooklyn resident here.

There are two hospitals in the neighborhood, Woodhull Hospital and Wyckoff Heights Medical Center. (I understand that at one time there was a Greenpoint Hospital but no one I know seems to have any information about it.)

If you look through the Reddit NYC subs you can find many posts critical of both of these hospitals. I don’t recall reading anything commending quality of the medical care. Just look at this post from a year ago.

Some people here like to boast of how long they have lived in the neighborhood including even how many generations they go back. In that case, why have you put up with this for so long?
