Trees falling apart everywhere

Anyone else notice this? around the Seneca Ave and Myrtle Wyckoff stops ive noticed trees falling apart, about 5 instances in the last 3 weeks, 3 of which are pictured here. What do we think? Some of the breaks seem way too dramatic and of branches way too large for it to be from wind or anything. Are those chinese lantern flies that were everywhere last summer finally killing stuff? Curious to hear what ppl think
