Rent vs own in Bergen, what’s everyone’s experience?

So I’m at that age where it might be a good to idea to start looking at property to buy for future. I’ve been constantly going back and foth lately whether it makes more. sense to keep renting in Bergen or start looking into buying. Between crazy property taxes, expensive ass home prices and rent hikes that seem to happen every year, neither option feels great to be honest..

Do you feel like renting gives more flexibility (and less stress with maintenance) or does owning feel worth it long term despite the costs? Would love to hear from people in different towns since the experiences might be really different. (I assume the experiences of someone living in Hackensack will not be the same as someone living in Wyckoff).
