I’m pretty happy with how this turned out.

* Most of the lines are quad track and have both local and express lines.

* I was intentional about having a small number of hub stations spread throughout the city in population and geographic centers (Wall St, Atlantic Av, Newark, Jamaica, 149th/Grand Concourse, etc.) and make sure all the trunk lines route through the hubs.

* Then I laid grid lines on top to fill in the gaps.

* Getting to about 60% ridership was pretty easy with the main trunk lines and hubs. After that there were definitely diminishing returns, adding the remaining lines basically doubled operational expenses in order to get the last few percent.

* I set fares at $5.00 for most of the build to increase revenue and was getting about $5.5B in daily profit. Once fully built out I lowered the fare to $2.25, which just breaks even ($5.63B revenue vs $5.51B expenses).
