Wyckoff Endowed Professor at the University of Washington. Their impact on the field is profound, including publications of books, edited collections, books chapters, articles, and essays. Among their books is, Genre: An Introduction to History, Theory, Research, and Pedagogy from 2010. Two recent co-authored book chapters include: “Anti-Racist Translingual Praxis in Writing Ecologies” in Writing Across Difference: Theory and Intervention from Utah State UP and “The Work of Mobility” in Mobility Work in Composition: Translation, Migration, Transformation from Utah State UP/University of Colorado Press.Hamza Ahmad is a PhD student in the University of Washington’s English department. Hamza is currently working on two different projects: a language ecology of a Brooklyn Walgreens—specifically the intersection of raciolinguistics and translingualism in that space—and Afro-Asian solidarities in the works of the great Urdu writer Saadat Hasan Manto. On a rainy Seattle day, Hamza loves rewatching his favorite films.
