Need advice! Moving to Bergen County

Hello! We are looking for homes in Bergen County and curious thoughts on the following towns:

A bit about us, we’re moving from NYC, budget max is $1.5M. Twins 6mo old with a 3rd planned for the future, both parents work from home and need dedicated office space. We will commute into the city 3x a month. Frequent travel out of EWR for business. In-laws visit from out of state for extended stays, so a bonus to have a dedicated guest space. We’re in our 30s and like to be active and social, shopping for a forever home so we really want to think about how this will shape our children into their teen years. We’re considering joining Edgewood CC or Hackensack CC so don’t want to be TOO far from there.

  1. Upper Saddle River – is there are community for young families?
  2. Montvale – I have heard the town is becoming increasing similar to Monsey NY – is this true?
  3. Woodcliff Lake – is there are catholic community in town? We’re not overly religious but are raising our children Catholic and would love for them to be involved in youth group when the time comes
  4. Ramsey – The taxes seem high here, is it worth it?
  5. Old Tappan – feels a little bit like “no mans land” and further from shopping centers / plazas – where do teenage kids hang out?
  6. Ho Ho Kus, Allendale – such limited inventory
  7. Ridgewood – homes in our price range are very small and don’t seem conducive to having 2 parents work from home
  8. Glen Rock – not considering
  9. Wyckoff – would love to live here, but it seems like constant bidding wars
  10. Franklin Lakes – just seems too far and difficult to commute to NYC and from Edgewood/Hackensack CCs
