Logistical moving/neighborhood question

My partner and I want to live together. We each have a child from previous relationships, my son (6m 1st grade) and his daughter (9f, 4th grade). Her school is in Windsor Terrace and his job is a couple stops north off the F/G. I live and work off the Myrtle-Wyckoff L/M, my son’s school is two blocks away.

I’m happy with up to an hour commute, they’d like a slightly shorter commute (30-45min) and figured we could each commute with the kids once we move to finish out the school year since our jobs are near their schools anyway, (April move, so 2 months of commuting for the kids to finish school).

Which neighborhood offers:

-best logistical commuting options for both Windsor Terrace and Ridgewood? – decent schools for kids to move to next year (keeping in mind his daughter will be applying to middle schools) -3 bed apartments within 3-4k -decent parks/kid stuff nearby

Figured it couldn’t hurt to just ask!

We already landed on the LES or maybe Crown Heights. Just brainstorming some options
