10 II, 7 done thus far, 3 more to go.
I feel conflicted as, technically, I’m only going to rank probably the first 8.
- NYP Brooklyn Methodist (The Interview went great, felt a great vibe from the PD, and the rest of faculty. It’s a big program with great affiliations and a great contract; I know it will be a lot of work, too, but hey, I feel like it is going to be like that anywhere in NYC. )
- Zucker School of Medicine/ Forest Hills ( This was actually my #1 choice before I applied, but my interview isn’t until the end of Jan.
- Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai/ Queens ( Familiar with the program, love the attendings, very friendly environment IMO.
- Brooklyn Hospital Center ( my first interview, felt unprepared, but I think it went well, I felt as if the PD came off a bit rough around the edges, but I think he was trying to be honest about how much work is expected. ( I don’t condone that)).
- Flushing Hospital Center (Have not interviewed there yet, know the program well, and I can see myself there)
- SUNY Downstate Health Science University program (Great program, great fellowships, shitty pay, kind of out of the way but still within range of what I’m willing to commute)
- BronxCare (The PD was very honest; it felt as if he read my application thoroughly, the interview was rather conversational, great CIR contract)
- Wyckoff Heights (I didn’t get a good impression from the program, PD even asked me how many other interviews I have)
- South Brooklyn Health/ Coney Island (Likely to not be included in ROL, it’s out of the way, and the commute will be brutal)
- Zucker School of Medicine/ Staten Island (Likely to not include in ROL, commute will be brutal)
