ALLAHASSEE — Waite graduate Natasha Howard will have her No. 33 Florida State jersey retired in November.
“Natasha Howard is one of the greatest to ever wear Garnet and Gold and I couldn’t be more proud,” FSU head coach Brooke Wyckoff said in a news release. “She gave everything she had to this program, and she’s continued to make us proud every step of the way. Seeing her succeed as a WNBA champion and All-Star only reinforces what we always knew; she’s one of the best to ever do it.”
Howard, who played for the Seminoles from 2011-14 was a two-time All-Atlantic Coast Conference first team selection in 2013 and 2014 and All-Defensive team selection in 2012 and 2014.
She finished with 1,811 points in 129 games, averaging 14 points per contest. She set program records for career rebounds (1,047) and double-doubles (41), which was broken by Makayla Timpson this past season. She also finished with 186 blocks and 209 steals.
During Howard’s senior campaign, she received All-America honorable mention selections by the AP and WBCA after posting 675 points and averaging 20.5 per game.
Howard shares the program record with Ta’Niya Latson for the most points in a game at 40. She also added 15 double-doubles, another FSU record.
