Crown Fried Chicken on Wyckoff and Dekalb

Is by far the best “cheap fried chicken” place I’ve ever had.

The food is good, portions are huge, the guys are nice and food comes fast, very affordable (IMO). Place is also open quite late and they have an A food inspection score too.

Pics are of a huge chopped cheese I had today (my hand is size large if you’re wondering), and a burger I had in the past, chopped cheese is $8 I think and double bacon cheese burger might be $8 or $9 as well.

They obviously also have fried chicken which I’ve never tried, as well as chicken/lamb over rice which actually looked pretty good.

They got a bunch of random sides and sickly sweet lemonade / strawberry lemonade if you like that sort of thing.

I mean compare it with Blue Collar down the street.

A double cheeseburger at Crown costs the same as a single hamburger at Blue Collar and is way bigger even on the single vs single level, also crown just charges round numbers if you pay cash so there’s another hidden 8% discount. You also won’t have to awkwardly wait 30 minutes while 5 million ubereats drivers pick up their orders before you as well.

I’m only posting this because otherwise these sorts of restaurants go a bit underreviewed online.

Another place that’s good nearby is Sal’s Pizzeria, the pepperoni rolls are only $2.75 and really filling, I was at a place in ridgewood that had a worse pepperoni roll for $5.50 and it was worse and I was so pissed lol.

The tamale cart in front of the post office is also good.

The chinese spot on the corner and the taco stand by the laundromat are not good imo tho.
