Florida State Women’s Basketball coach Brooke Wyckoff is set to be an honoree for the 2025 Cards for a Cure, hosted by the Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare (TMH) Foundation.

The Cards for a Cure is scheduled on Saturday, Sept 27, at The Moon, 1105 E. Lafayette St.

Wyckoff will be sharing her story of surviving breast cancer after being diagnosed in 2023. While being treated, she continued to coach basketball full-time, leading the Seminoles to the NCAA tournament. She is also a proud wife and mother.

In a press release, she expressed the challenges she had to overcome, including her worries about her daughter growing up without her because of her cancer.

“The thing that hit me the hardest was that I am a mom,” Wyckoff said.

“It’s one thing to think, I could die, but the thought I couldn’t bear was, ‘I have a 10-year-old daughter.’ The thought of her growing up without a mom or going through this and having her mom pass away? I couldn’t handle that thought. That was the hardest part. When I met with my doctor, she told me, ‘This is survivable. It’s going to be a heck of a year, but you’re going to get through this.’”
