Born and raised in Bergen County (Wyckoff/Franklin Lakes/Ridgewood) my entire life. Just landed a good job in Monmouth County and thinking long-term housing options, but every time I visit, I’m just not falling in love with any of the areas I’ve looked at.
Budget is 1-1.5 so we’ve looked at towns like Freehold, Little Silver, Middletown, Tinton Falls, Holmdel, Colts Neck, etc.
While all nice towns, it just feels like houses are plopped on plots of land with no sense of a neighborhood and there are just strips malls on strip malls on strip malls with no community feel to them.
Am I missing any areas I should be looking at that somewhat feels like Bergen County? Thanks.
