7 Years in Crypto Trading

I’ve been in the crypto trading game for 7 years now. At first, it was no different from gambling, throwing money into the market, hoping for a pump and riding the emotional rollercoaster of liquidation, fake-outs and FOMO-fueled mistakes. I jumped from strategy to strategy, thinking the next one would be “the one” scalping, swing trading, indicators, order flow, Wyckoff, Elliott Waves, on-chain analysis, you name it. They all worked, until they didn’t.

Then I realized something that changed everything; analysis only gets you so far ,you need to be market-smart. Charts don’t move the market; people do. Liquidity hunts, market makers manipulating price action, institutions faking breakouts. This is the real game.

So after years of refining my craft, I reached a point where I could confidently 3x, 5x, even 10x an account over time.

The 875k Betrayal!!!

I used to work with this guy, we became close friends overtime before the company we were working for stopped working in Kenya.Anyways my so-called “friend.” Who seemed to have come from well off family And I had a deal,I trade for him and I get 35% of the profits only. Not his initial investment,He had capital, and I had skill. The perfect partnership, right? Wrong.

We started in November 2024 and within a few months, I turned his 800K into over 2.5million. That’s more than 3x his money. I was executing high-probability swing trades, catching macro trend reversals and compounding gains over time. Some nights, I barely slept, charting, running sentiment analysis, watching for major liquidity shifts. He never asked about anything, since I warned him not to interfere even if in loss

And then, just when the money was rolling in, he changed the password and disappeared.

No contract, no proof, nothing. Not that a contract would have helped since we were trading in his Binance account ,he had total control. I looked for him everywhere, asked mutual contacts, even considered legal action, but let’s be real ,crypto is decentralized and once someone ghosts you, they’re gone.

This hit hard. I could’ve taken my cut and reinvested it. I could’ve finally had capital to trade on my own terms. But no I got played. I blame myself.

Lessons Learned though I’ve approached multiple banks over the years, offering to trade for them. None of them are interested in crypto. They still believe in fiat while billions are flowing into this incredible invention. I told them, crypto is the future. In 10-15 years, everything will be digital.

Want my advice? Forget short-term trading unless you’re obsessed like I am. Just buy a few solid coins now and hold. Fiat is done. Adoption is inevitable.

As for me? I’m done trusting people. Never again. I worked too hard, refined my skills too much and sacrificed too many sleepless nights just to get scammed. Next time, I trade for myself.

Because in the end, the market doesn’t betray you…. people do.
