Choosing between two apartments

Hi, my roommate and I are trying to choose between two apartments that are both pretty equal but in two different locations. One is right near the Myrtle-Wyckoff Ave stop (near Ridgewood), and the other is right near the Central Ave (M line) stop (more in the “middle” of Bushwick). We are both not from the area, so we’d really appreciate any opinions on those areas and which might be better. We’re interested in how many young people there are (so we can make friends), how many shops, nightlife, stuff to do, etc. Basically, we’re wondering how lively each location is rather than something like safety because we believe both areas to be pretty safe.
