Where Golden Bachelor winner Theresa Nist stands with heartbroken Leslie Fhima after Gerry Turner chose between friends
Theresa’s hairstylist BFF tells all on the women’s complicated friendship
Golden Bachelor stars Theresa Nist and Leslie Fhima’s friendship status can finally be revealed in an exclusive interview with the winner’s family friend.
Theresa, 70, got engaged to Gerry, 72, during The Golden Bachelor finale, while runner-up Leslie, 64, was brutally dumped on camera.
Leslie was left heartbroken after Gerry delivered the crushing news during an emotional conversation that took place in her hotel room in Costa Rica.
Although Bachelor Nation got to watch Leslie confront Gerry for the last time on stage in Los Angeles following the breakup, viewers at home did not get to see Leslie have a heart-to-heart with Theresa.
Now, in an interview with The U.S. Sun, the New Jersey native’s hairstylist has shed light on where the contestants’ friendship stands today.
“They are great friends,” Lisa Scolamacchia of Hair Love Lisa told The U.S. Sun exclusively, while adding Theresa “absolutely loves” Leslie.
The Wyckoff hair salon owner continued: “She said that [their friendship] was from day one, so it almost had nothing to do with the choice at the end.
“I’m sure it got a little weird, but she says to this day, they’re great friends.”
The mom of two has also remained in touch with the other contestants, and even referred to them as “truly great women.”
Theresa and Leslie have yet to post about each other on social media.
However, Theresa did recently say in an interview with the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast that she “would invite Leslie,” and the other 20 ladies who were part of Gerry’s season to her upcoming wedding.
She added: “I don’t know if she would come.”
Gerry and Leslie’s live televised wedding on ABC will take place in California on January 4.
NEXT BACHELORETTE?
It is unclear what the future of The Golden Bachelor looks like, and if there will be a Golden Bachelorette.
Theresa has only spilled to her hairstylist that “there was talk about maybe having another bachelor with the same [group of] women.”
However, the financial services professional and her family is rooting for Leslie and “feeling super hopeful for her,” according to Lisa.
“We were watching the [finale] and we were like, ‘That girl is going to get thousands of DMs now,'” Lisa revealed, referring to a watch party thrown by Theresa’s Italian family from Jersey.
“[Leslie’s] going to be perfectly fine. She’s pretty and she’s nice.
“And I think in a weird way, it’s probably almost better when you lose because now you’re going to have a choice [of men].”
A family member of Leslie’s previously told The U.S. Sun that they are not aware of Leslie’s participation, but if she were asked, she would do it.
“I mean, if they ask her, then that would be great for her.
“I think she would probably do it,” the relative spilled.
“She’s been a big fan of the Bachelor Nation series for many years, and that’s what kind of prompted her to go for it.
“And Leslie’s very competitive. If she goes for something, she’s going to go all the way… What you see is what you get.”
FUTURE PLANS
While Leslie’s future in the franchise is unknown, Theresa and Gerry have already revealed their future plans.
The newly engaged couple is currently wedding planning and then will be house hunting in Charleston, South Carolina.
Theresa currently owns a $568K ranch-style home in Shrewsbury, New Jersey, and Gerry owns a $637,000 lakeside home in Hudson, Indiana.
While the father of two has retired from the restaurant industry, Theresa has yet to retire.
Lisa believes that Theresa will retire right away, but “does want to enjoy the rest of her life.”
“She’ll find a balance… I’m imagining her job could be done remotely,” the hairstylist told The U.S. Sun.
“She’s passionate and incredibly smart and knowledgeable about her job.”
Lisa added: “I can see all of [Gerry and Theresa’s] dreams coming true.”
For one, Theresa has already started taking pickleball lessons to keep up with pro Gerry who plays regularly.
