I am currently in a job and started to learn trading a while back. In the mid of 2021. I get very less time to actually study books. Have read a few books but the markets since December have not been good for a newbie like me. I have not able to apply strategies and learning from the books I have read in live market as this market is highly volatile and swing and positional trading in equity segment doesn’t make sense for me at this moment. I plan to trade derivatives as soon as I get a hang of the market. But with a limited capital of 2 lakhs INR ( 2500 USD), I am afraid of losing it all in the derivatives. Day trading is not for me right now as I rarely get time to look at charts continuously. Not able to apply the knowledge is getting me frustrated. Meanwhile I was thinking of backtesting based on pure price action. Nifty and other top 20 stocks. Is it a good idea? Please advise on how to proceed for backtesting and the way forward. Books I have read: 1. Stan Weinstein – profit in bull and bear markets. 2. Laurentiu Damir – Price Action breakdown. 3. Steve Nisson- Candlesticks. 4. Trading in the zone- mark douglas 5. Ruben – Wyckoff 6. Tom Williams – VSA
