Playing through Bonelab wouldn’t have been the same without the beautifully versatile and melancholic soundtrack Michael Wyckoff gifted us. From the first level, the music the game presents to you combined with the unbelievable gameplay of Bonelab makes VR feel almost real. On each of my playthroughs, journeying through each puzzle and sometimes getting stuck, experiencing the complex VR combat, and trying to figure out how to break each level, was only complemented by the wistful notes you could hear in the background — not always noticed, but always enjoyed. It wouldn’t be the same without it. Alongside the more serious tones of music, there’s the moon base music, which reminds me of old-school mario games, very happy and energetic, and the body mall music, among others. Stress Level Zero has a darn good composer on their team.
